Economy Is Cited as Reason For Cuts in Medicaid, SCHIP

States are cutting back on the health care safety nets Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance Program in response to budget deficits caused by the worsening economic situation, according to a report by the advocacy group Families USA.
