Combat TBI Tab Expected to Reach $20 Billion

SALT LAKE CITY — Neurologic injuries figure prominently in the 33,409 U.S. soldiers who have been wounded in Iraq, with traumatic brain injury alone or in concert with posttraumatic stress disorder presenting a “significant challenge” to the Department of Veterans Affairs and substantially driving up the overall cost of the conflict.
