An 83-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with a 1-week history of neck pain, weakness/inability to use her left arm, and heaviness and weakness affecting her left leg. She was unable to walk and had some degree of confusion. Prior to these symptoms, the patient was active and independent. Her medical history was unremarkable, except for hypertension and dyslipidemia. To learn how imaging helped make the diagnosis, see Image of the Month, page 17.
