Neuropsychiatric involvement is estimated to occur in up to 75% of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Neuropsychiatric SLE is a major concern in the clinical evaluation of this disease. Magnetic resonance imaging plays a key role in identifying neuropsychiatric involvement. To learn how diffusion-weighted and diffusion tensor MRI may aid physicians in quantifying neuropsychiatric SLE. See Image of the Month, p. 21
