Conduction Studies Don't Imperil Cardiac Devices

WASHINGTON — Routine nerve conduction studies do not interfere with the function of implantable cardioverter defibrillators or pacemakers, and they are safe diagnostic tools in patients with these devices, Dr. Michelle Mellion and her colleagues reported in a poster at the annual meeting of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
