Although amyloid plaque deposition has been associated for years with the development of Alzheimer's disease, only recently has it become possible to visualize these deposits in vivo through the use of PET radiotracers such as Pittsburgh Compound B. To find out how this imaging technique may help to further understand the disease's etiology, identify patients earlier and more effectively, and guide drug therapies, see Image of the Month,p. 16.
